Choosing to be more active in how you get around can cut your carbon footprint, save you money on fuel and improve your physical and mental health and wellbeing. What’s not to like?
Our ‘Walk this way’ campaign.
Almost all of us can reduce our carbon footprint by choosing more sustainable ways of getting around, like walking to the shops or cycling to work, even if just once or twice a week.
That’s why we’re asking people to choose to walk or cycle more often if they can, particularly for short journeys of under a mile that begin and end at home.
Being more active can help to:
save you money on fuel
boost your mood
burn some calories
reduce your carbon footprint
How we’re walking the walk.
To inspire people to discover a love of walking and cycling and to highlight the benefits of doing so, we’ve launched a digital campaign on our Facebook page.

Alongside this, we’re also placing the A3 posters below, along with a few banners, in well-visited places in Basingstoke and Deane to encourage people to choose to be more active in how they get around.
