Volunteer.

Get involved in a conservation groups and make new friends as you work with others to make the borough greener and more vibrant.

No green thumb? No problem. From looking after social media to encouraging new volunteers, there are plenty of ways to help.

You could also think about becoming a food waste champion, who helps local people throw less food away to save money and avoid more emissions from buying extra food.

Or, if you’ve got practical skills and can work with wood, repair bikes, paint or cook, you could join the friendly volunteer team at Basingstoke Community Furniture Project, which offers pre-loved items to local communities.

We can make our borough greener by working together. Take a look at our list and see if you can find a group you’d like to join.

If you live in an area with a parish or town council, why not ask them what they are doing already and if you can help them to go greener?
