Basingstoke and Deane is going even more green.

Here’s the situation.

We can all help to make our borough greener and more sustainable.

From where we shop and what we buy to how we get around and what we reuse or recycle, our choices have a huge impact.

That includes changing how businesses operate and the products they sell, the way the borough is run and the services offered to us.

How our borough helps the environment is up to us. Together, we can make Basingstoke and Deane even more green.

There’s already been some progress.

Together, we’ve managed to cut borough-wide net emissions by just over 13% from 2018 to 2021.

But we must all go much further.

With about 87% of local net emissions remaining, we all must do more.

And there are benefits to doing so.

So, what’s in it for us personally? Quite a bit really. Off the top of our heads, we’d say…

  • helping us to save money on fuel,
  • improving our health with more walking and cycling, and
  • living in a greener and more vibrant place.

And those are just three of the benefits of taking action to make our borough greener.
