A growing network of people in Silchester helping each other to power their homes for less.

Make friends. Save money. Cut carbon.
We’re fostering a community of tip-swapping, advice-sharing, energy-saving experts in Silchester who – together – could cut carbon and potentially save hundreds of pounds on their energy bills every year.
The pilot project aims to help you stay warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. And by helping you make your home more energy efficient, it could help safeguard its future value too.
Upcoming energy workshop
Missed the first session in February? Not to worry – we’re holding a second workshop to kick off this project. It’s free – just drop in!
Silchester Village Hall
Tuesday 14 April
2.30pm to 3.30pm
How does it work?
Join in – and, in time, you’ll have access to Facebook and WhatsApp groups so can swap energy-saving tips with friends and neighbours.
Thinking about upgrades like solar panels or insulation? You’ll be able to talk to others who have already had them and learn about their experiences.
And you’ll also have even easier access to our Green Team, who will explain everything you can do – without using confusing language – to make your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
Who’s supporting this?
It’s being run by us and the borough council, with the support of Sustainable Silchester, St Mary’s Church and Silchester Parish Council.
I’m ready – how do I join in?
Great. Email our Green Team using the button below to let them know you want in or to ask any questions you have.
